Instagram Tests Option to Hide Read Receipts
Instagram is currently testing a new feature that grants users the ability to disable read receipts for their private messages. Adam Mosseri, the head of the social network, announced this development in response to user feedback.
If you’re part of the testing group, you can now turn off read notifications for your Instagram messages. This means that your conversation partners will no longer be informed whether you’ve read their messages or not.
To activate this feature, simply open any chat and navigate to “Privacy and Security.” You will find a new section labeled “Who sees your activity” where you can disable the “Read Receipts” option. Once done, your message recipients will be unaware of whether you’ve read their messages or not.
NIX Solutions reminds that Instagram has previously introduced a suite of tools for A/B testing in Reels, allowing content creators to compare different versions of headlines and covers for their posts.
