Live Broadcasts on Instagram Channels

One of the most notable updates is the ability to conduct live broadcasts within channels. Authors can now broadcast to all their followers or restrict broadcasts to channel subscribers only, encouraging users to follow their channels. To make a live broadcast on your Instagram channel, follow these steps:

  1. Open Your Channel: In the text field on the right, click the plus button. Select “Live” from the menu that opens.
  2. Enter Broadcast Title: Next, enter the title for your broadcast.

Before starting, you can practice by going into the practice mode after clicking on the audience options at the top. Note that it is not yet possible to schedule a live broadcast on the channel.

Custom Channel Design and Reactions

Instagram has also added custom themes for channels, allowing users to set any image as their chat background. To do this, navigate to the “Themes” section, select “Custom,” and upload any image.

In addition, setting up reactions has become available for Instagram channels, similar to Telegram but in reverse. Channel authors can choose emojis that will not be available for subscribers to react to messages. To manage hidden reactions, go to “Channel Management,” click “Manage Hidden Reactions,” and select the emojis you want to exclude.

Additional Features: QR Codes

Furthermore, Instagram now allows the creation of QR codes for channels, similar to profiles, adds NIX Solutions. You can generate a QR code for your channel by going to the “Invitation link” section and selecting “QR code.”

This is a substantial update that enhances the capabilities of Instagram channels, making them more comparable to Telegram channels. However, there is still a considerable gap in functionality between the two platforms, which seems to be widening rather than narrowing. We’ll keep you updated on any further changes and improvements.
