Instagram has started launching paid live streaming badges that users can buy to show their support for the blogger. This will allow content authors to generate additional income, explains SearchEngines.
Testing of this feature started in May. Now Instagram is launching it for a group of 50,000 bloggers.
Users will have three badge options to choose from: $0.99, $1.99, and $4.99.
These badges will not only draw attention to the comments of those who bought them, but also unlock accessibility features. Among them – adding to the list of owners of such badges from a blogger and access to a special badge in the form of a heart.
In the first phase of the launch, Instagram will not charge a commission for using this feature, but plans to keep a portion of the income for itself in the future, notes NIX Solutions.
In addition to launching paid badges, Instagram is also expanding testing on IGTV ads. This program allows bloggers to make money from ads that appear alongside their videos. As of today, they receive at least 55% of their income from such ads.
