Apple has resumed advertising on the X social network after more than two years. The company had suspended marketing activities on the platform in November 2023, disagreeing with statements made by its owner, Elon Musk.
Apple Returns to X with New Ads
MacRumors noted that an ad appeared on behalf of Apple’s main account, highlighting Safari browser privacy features. Additionally, the Apple TV account promoted a popular series on its streaming service.
Musk, who acquired X (formerly Twitter) in 2022, relaxed the platform’s moderation policies, which led to dissatisfaction among major advertisers. Apple was among several brands—such as Disney, Coca-Cola, Sony, IBM, and Comcast—that paused advertising on X. Over time, many of these companies gradually resumed their marketing activities on the platform.
Apple’s Continued Presence on X
Despite the advertising pause, Apple CEO Tim Cook and other top executives, including Chief Marketing Officer Greg Joswiak, remained active on the social network. However, former Apple CMO Phil Schiller chose to leave X, shifting to alternatives like Mastodon and Bluesky, adds NIXSolutions.
Apple’s return to advertising on X signals a possible shift in its approach, though it remains to be seen how the company will navigate its marketing strategy on the platform. We’ll keep you updated on further developments.
