NIXsolutions: YouTube Premium Tests Ad-Free Sharing

Google has launched a limited experiment for YouTube Premium subscribers, allowing them to share up to 10 ad-free videos per month with others. This feature is available only in regions where YouTube Premium is supported.

How the Experiment Works

Non-Premium users can watch shared videos without ads, just like paid subscribers. When Premium users click the “Share” button on YouTube, they will see an option to “Share without ads.” Each month, they can generate links for 10 videos, and each video can be watched ad-free up to 10 times.

If a shared link is used by someone who already has a Premium subscription, it won’t count toward the limit. Additionally, whether the link is shared with one person or multiple people, the 10 ad-free views are distributed among all recipients.

Availability and Restrictions

Most videos can be shared through this feature, but there are exceptions, notes NIXsolutions. Music content, YouTube Originals, Shorts, live streams, movies, and shows are not eligible for ad-free sharing.

Currently, Google is testing the feature in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Turkey, and the UK. Only a small number of Premium subscribers have access to it at this stage, yet we’ll keep you updated as more integrations become available.
