NIX Solutions: Threads Audience Exceeded 150M

The popularity of Meta’s microblogging service Threads is steadily increasing, as evidenced by the rapid growth in the number of its users. During the financial results report for the first quarter of 2024, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the platform’s audience exceeded 150 million monthly active users, an increase of approximately 20 million compared to February of this year.

Steady Growth:

Zuckerberg suggested that Threads could become the next Meta app with a billion users. In any case, the Threads audience continues to grow steadily, although at a slower pace than in the first days after launch. In the first week, the application was downloaded more than 100 million times, after which user activity decreased, but their number is still steadily increasing.

Comparison with Competitors:

Business Insider noted earlier this week that Threads is superior to social network X (formerly Twitter) in some metrics. Threads has more daily users in the US than X, according to analytics firm Apptopia. But in terms of global audience, X has 550 million users.

Monetization Plans:

Unlike other Meta apps, Threads doesn’t yet have ads, but that’s likely to change in the future, notes NIX Solutions. Zuckerberg previously said that the company will only “focus on monetization” once the app has gained a sufficient audience.
