Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company is starting to test AI avatars on Instagram created by users using the Meta AI Studio tool. Initially, AI avatars will appear primarily in messages and will be identified by the “AI” label.
AI Avatars for Enhanced Interaction
As part of the test, in the coming weeks, subscribers of famous channels will be able to communicate with their idols through their AI avatars, which are essentially AI chatbots. It is noted that in the future, any user or company will be able to create their own chatbot on the platform to interact with their community and customers. This innovative feature will help ensure that no fan messages are left unattended, whereas it is simply impossible to physically respond to all incoming messages. Over time, these AI characters will become more advanced and could even become a kind of art, Zuckerberg said.
Rolling Out the Feature
Initially, approximately 50 content creators and a small percentage of ordinary users will participate in testing. Meta will then roll out the feature to more people over the next few months, which will happen around August. We’ll keep you updated as the rollout progresses. Zuckerberg emphasized that this is not just an expansion of functionality, but a new level of interaction that allows for a closer connection with audiences and customers through personalized chatbots based on artificial intelligence, adds NIX Solutions.
Future Developments
The ultimate goal is to develop different APIs that reflect the diversity of people’s interests and to be able to tailor AI avatars to suit personal needs. This approach aims to create a more personalized and engaging user experience on Instagram, paving the way for a new era of digital interaction.
