The head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, announced a number of changes that will affect popular bloggers and ordinary users. In this way, Mosseri wants to make sure that it is the content creators who get the money and popularity, and not those who download the video and publish it on another social network.
The first change is the opportunity to describe your profession. The user can select “photographer” or “rapper” – this information will be displayed every time the author is tagged in the publication, says Devby.
The social network will also actively promote original content using algorithms. “If you create something from scratch, you should get more recognition than if you re-share someone else’s video. We will try to do more to add value to original content,” Mosseri said in an address to users.
The head of the social network asked users not to post popular videos from TikTok to Reels, notes NIXSolutions. Mark Zuckerberg has previously stated repeatedly that short videos are the fastest growing content format, which is why they are now available on Facebook and Instagram. Now, when you post a video with the TikTok logo, its rating will be underestimated.
