Instagram is introducing several new messaging features, including scheduled direct messages (DMs), pinned messages, and message translation. Users will now be able to schedule messages up to 29 days in advance, which is especially useful for coordinating across different time zones and keeping track of important conversations. Additionally, up to three messages can be pinned at the top of a chat to prevent them from getting lost in active discussions. Meta representatives noted that these updates are designed to simplify communication and ensure important messages, such as memes, are not overlooked.
Another key improvement is the introduction of message translation. Covering 99 languages, this feature displays translations directly in the chat, making conversations more accessible across different languages. Users can also invite friends to group chats using QR codes, streamlining the process of creating group conversations.
Music Sharing and Broadcast Channels
Instagram is also enhancing its music-sharing capabilities. Users will soon be able to listen to the same song simultaneously with friends or send music tracks for later listening—all without leaving the app. Music search and sharing will be integrated into the same interface that hosts stickers and animated GIFs.
NIX Solutions adds that music-sharing functionality will be extended to Broadcast Channels. These public channels allow content creators to engage with their audience through one-way communication, and now, they can also share music directly with their followers.
